Introducing: Southern Westchester Real Estate News!

We’re currently working on a new section designed to keep you updated on all the real estate news in the county as well as provide a primer of all the cities, towns and villages within it.

We’ve recently gone through the home buying process here and there’s a lot we wish we knew when we started out! There are quite a bit of quirks for one county. For example, a house in Rye Neck is in the village of Mamaroneck and the Town of Rye, but not the city of Rye. You can live in the city of Yonkers but tell everyone your address is Bronxville, Tuckahoe or Scarsdale. You can live in Rye Brook, but be in the Port Chester school district. You can even be in the Bronx but send your kids to Pelham’s schools.

Westchester County is officially divided into 6 cities, 19 towns and 23 villages. It’s the 7th most populous county in the state of New York at 980,244 people.  Starting off big, we’ll profile each of the six cities of Westchester County: Yonkers, New Rochelle, Mount Vernon, White Plains, Peekskill and Rye.

Stay tuned for real estate posts - coming this summer!
